Kodak 40 inch (100 cm) SE Linux 2025 Edition (40QSE5009) Smart Full HD QLED QLED TV

Product Overview & Value Proposition

The Kodak 40 inch (100 cm) SE Linux 2025 Edition (40QSE5009) represents a strategic entry into the mid-sized smart television market, specifically targeting users who seek a balance between advanced display technology and efficient operating systems. As a 2025 edition model, this television is positioned to provide modern visual standards in a compact form factor, making it an ideal choice for bedrooms, studio apartments, or secondary living spaces where space is at a premium but visual quality cannot be compromised.

At the heart of its value proposition is the integration of QLED (Quantum Dot LED) technology within a Full HD framework. By utilizing a VA display type, Kodak aims to deliver enhanced contrast and color accuracy that traditional LED panels often struggle to achieve at this price point. The inclusion of the Linux operating system suggests a streamlined, focused user experience designed to minimize bloatware and maximize the efficiency of the hardware. This makes the 40QSE5009 a compelling option for consumers looking for a reliable, smart-enabled viewing experience that prioritizes core streaming functionalities and high-quality color reproduction.

Targeted at a demographic that values brand heritage combined with modern smart features, this television serves as a versatile hub for digital entertainment. Whether it is for casual streaming, connecting gaming consoles, or utilizing smart assistant capabilities, the Kodak SE Linux 2025 Edition is engineered to provide a cohesive and high-performance multimedia environment.

Core Specifications & Architecture

The technical architecture of the Kodak 40QSE5009 is built around a robust display and audio foundation designed to meet contemporary viewing standards. The device features a 40-inch (100 cm) screen with a Full HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, ensuring sharp imagery and detailed textures for standard high-definition content.

Display Technology and Visual Metrics

The standout feature of this model is its QLED display technology. Unlike standard LCDs, the QLED layer enhances color volume and brightness. The panel utilizes a VA (Vertical Alignment) display type, which is known for providing deep blacks and high contrast. This is evidenced by the impressive 5000:1 contrast ratio, a metric that significantly exceeds standard LED televisions, allowing for more defined shadows and brighter highlights. The brightness is rated at 400 nits, providing sufficient luminance for various indoor lighting conditions. To ensure a consistent viewing experience, the television offers a wide 178-degree viewing angle, meaning colors and contrast remain stable even when viewed from the side.

Processing and Memory

To manage the smart interface and application loading, the hardware includes 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage (ROM). While the memory footprint is optimized for the Linux operating system, the 4 GB of storage provides the necessary space for essential system files and a selection of user applications. The 60 Hz refresh rate and a 10ms response time ensure that motion is handled smoothly, reducing ghosting during fast-paced content such as sports or action sequences.

Connectivity and Interface

The 40QSE5009 is equipped with a comprehensive suite of connectivity options to facilitate a modern smart home ecosystem. The hardware interface includes:

• HDMI Ports: 2 HDMI ports, suitable for connecting set-top boxes, Blu-ray players, or gaming consoles.
• USB Ports: 2 USB ports for connecting external hard drives or other peripheral devices.
• Wireless Connectivity: Dual Band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 for seamless wireless streaming and peripheral connection.
• Wired Connectivity: Ethernet port for stable high-speed internet and an Optical port for high-quality audio.
• Advanced Audio Support: eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) for high-bandwidth audio transmission.

Performance, Usability & Everyday Experience

In real-world usage, the Kodak SE Linux 2025 Edition is designed to be an intuitive and responsive entertainment center. The choice of a Linux-based operating system provides a lightweight environment that focuses on the most requested streaming services. Users can directly access popular applications such as YouTube, Prime Video, Sony Liv, and Zee5, as well as JioHotstar, ensuring that the most relevant content is always a few clicks away.

The smart capabilities extend beyond simple app launching. With Google Assistant integration, users can interact with the television via voice commands, simplifying navigation and content searches. The inclusion of Screen Mirroring technology allows for seamless integration with mobile devices, including both Android and iPhone, enabling users to cast photos, videos, and presentations directly from their smartphones to the 40-inch screen.

Audio performance is a significant component of the everyday experience. The television features a 36-watt output power with a surround sound channel configuration. The speakers utilize a bottom-firing design, which helps in projecting sound toward the listener to create a more immersive soundstage. This high wattage is particularly beneficial for small to medium-sized rooms, providing enough volume and depth to complement the visual clarity of the QLED panel without the immediate necessity for an external soundbar.

Design, Build Quality & Efficiency

The physical design of the Kodak 40QSE5009 emphasizes a modern, slim aesthetic that fits well into contemporary interior decors. With product dimensions of 85 x 92.5 x 54.5 cm and a relatively lightweight build of 5.2 kg (with the total item weight listed at 5 kg 200 g), the unit is easy to maneuver and install.

Build and Mounting

The television is designed for versatile placement. It can be used as a standalone unit or mounted on a wall using the included wall mount hardware. The build quality is managed by Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd, ensuring adherence to manufacturing standards. The aspect ratio of 16:9 is the industry standard, ensuring that all modern cinematic and broadcast content fills the screen without unwanted black bars.

Power and Remote Control

Efficiency is managed through a standard voltage requirement of 100 volts, with a total wattage consumption of 36 watts. The remote control is a sophisticated component of the user interface, utilizing both IR (Infrared) and Bluetooth technology. This dual-mode technology ensures that the remote can be used for both traditional line-of-sight commands and more advanced Bluetooth-enabled interactions, such as voice control via Google Assistant. The remote comes ready to use, as it includes 2 AAA alkaline batteries.
