Voltas 1 Ton 2 Star Window Fixed Speed AC 2026 Model

Product Overview & Value Proposition

The Voltas 1 Ton 2 Star Window Fixed Speed AC 2026 Model, specifically the 122FS PLATINA(4011571), represents a focused approach to essential cooling solutions. Designed as a window-type unit, this air conditioner is engineered for users who prioritize reliable, straightforward cooling performance in medium-sized spaces. As a 1-ton capacity unit, it is positioned to serve individual rooms or smaller living areas where a compact, single-unit installation is preferred over the complexity of split systems.

Marketed under the Voltas brand, this 2026 model aims to provide a balance between traditional fixed-speed technology and modern efficiency standards. With a 2 Star BEE Rating, it is designed to offer energy savings of up to 5% compared to non-inverter 1-star models, making it a pragmatic choice for those looking to upgrade from older, less efficient cooling technology. The value proposition here lies in its simplicity, the use of high-quality copper components, and the inclusion of essential smart features like auto-restart and sleep mode, all packaged within a durable window-mounted chassis.

This product is ideally suited for homeowners or renters who require a dependable cooling appliance that is easy to install and maintain. By utilizing R-32 refrigerant and Hydrophilic Gold Fins, Voltas has ensured that the unit meets contemporary standards for cooling efficiency and environmental considerations, even within the fixed-speed category.

Core Specifications & Architecture

The technical architecture of the Voltas 122FS PLATINA is built around a robust Fixed Speed compressor system. Unlike inverter models that vary motor speed, this single-speed compressor operates at a consistent rate to meet cooling demands, providing a predictable and stable cooling cycle. The core of its thermal exchange capability is the 3100 W cooling capacity, which provides the necessary thermal lift to regulate room temperatures effectively.

A critical component of this unit's longevity and efficiency is its Copper Condenser Coil. Copper is widely recognized in the HVAC industry for its superior thermal conductivity and ease of maintenance compared to aluminum alternatives. This choice ensures that heat exchange is optimized and that potential leaks or repairs are more manageable over the lifespan of the device. Furthermore, the evaporator is equipped with Hydrophilic Gold Fins, a specialized coating designed to enhance heat transfer and prevent moisture buildup, which helps in maintaining consistent cooling performance.

The technical specifications are summarized as follows:

• Capacity: 1 Ton
• Cooling Capacity: 3100 W
• Compressor Type: Single Speed (Fixed Speed)
• Condenser Coil: Copper
• Evaporator Fin Type: Hydrophilic Gold Fins
• Refrigerant: R-32
• ISEER Rating: 3.1 W/W
• Annual Electricity Consumption: 744.11 kWh
• Power Requirements: AC 230V, 50Hz

The use of R-32 refrigerant is a significant technical highlight, as it is a more efficient and environmentally friendly refrigerant compared to older generations, contributing to the unit's overall performance profile.

Performance, Usability & Everyday Experience

In real-world application, the Voltas 1 Ton Window AC offers a versatile range of operating modes to suit different environmental conditions and user preferences. The unit features three distinct modes: Cool Mode for standard temperature reduction, Dry Mode for moisture removal during humid conditions, and Fan Mode for air circulation without active refrigeration. This versatility ensures that the device remains useful even when the ambient temperature does not strictly require heavy cooling.

User control is facilitated through a 4 Steps Fan Speed system, allowing occupants to customize the intensity of the airflow. This granularity in airflow management, combined with a dedicated Remote Control, ensures that the user can fine-tune their environment without needing to interact directly with the unit's chassis. For those who prioritize uninterrupted comfort, the Sleep Mode is a standout feature; it automatically adjusts the temperature throughout the night to ensure the user remains comfortable as their body temperature naturally fluctuates during sleep.

The inclusion of a Timer and Memory Feature enhances the everyday usability of the device. The timer allows for scheduled operation, preventing unnecessary energy expenditure, while the memory feature ensures that the unit retains user-defined settings. Furthermore, the Auto Restart function is a vital convenience in areas with inconsistent power supply. In the event of a power cut, the unit will automatically resume its previous settings once power is restored, eliminating the need for manual intervention and ensuring the room returns to the desired temperature promptly.

Air quality is addressed through a built-in Dust Filter, which assists in capturing airborne particles, contributing to a cleaner breathing environment within the cooled space. While this is a standard feature, its integration with the 4-step fan speed allows for effective air filtration during regular operation.

Design, Build Quality & Efficiency

The design of the Voltas 122FS PLATINA follows the traditional window AC form factor, characterized by a single, integrated unit. The exterior is finished in a clean White color, allowing it to blend seamlessly into various interior decors. The build quality is emphasized by the heavy-duty nature of the components, such as the copper coils and gold-finished fins, which are designed to withstand the rigors of continuous operation.

In terms of physical dimensions, the indoor portion of the unit (which constitutes the bulk of the visible chassis in a window installation) measures 66 cm x 43 cm x 70.5 cm and has a weight of 45.5 kg. This substantial weight is indicative of the robust internal components, including the compressor and copper coils, which are essential for the unit's 3100 W cooling output. It is important to note that as a window AC, the unit is designed to be mounted within a window frame, with the weight distributed to the structural support of the window.

Efficiency is a core pillar of this 2026 model. With a BEE Star Rating of 2 Stars (based on 2029 standards), the unit is optimized for energy savings. The ISEER of 3.1 W/W and an annual electricity consumption of 744.11 kWh provide clear metrics for consumers to calculate their long-term operational costs. The design philosophy focuses on "efficiency through reliability," utilizing fixed-speed technology that, while less complex than inverter systems, is highly optimized for consistent power draw and long-term durability.
