Voltas 1 Ton 2 Star WAC 122FS PLATINA 2026 Model Window AC (White)

Product Overview & Value Proposition

The Voltas 1 Ton 2 Star WAC 122FS PLATINA 2026 Model Window AC represents a strategic entry in the window air conditioner segment, specifically designed for users seeking reliable cooling in compact spaces. As a 2026 model, this unit is positioned to meet contemporary efficiency standards while maintaining the robust, straightforward utility that the Voltas brand is known for. It is engineered for individuals living in apartments or smaller rooms where a window-type installation is more practical than a split system.

The primary value proposition of this unit lies in its balance of cooling capacity and specialized features designed for harsh environments. With a 1 Ton capacity and a 3100 W cooling capacity, it is tailored for medium-sized rooms that require consistent temperature regulation. Furthermore, the inclusion of Inverter Technology within a window chassis suggests a focus on modernizing a traditional form factor to provide better control over energy consumption and operational stability.

Targeting the budget-conscious yet performance-oriented consumer, the PLATINA series offers essential modern comforts such as Sleep Mode, Auto Restart, and advanced filtration. It is an ideal choice for those who prioritize ease of installation and the durability of Copper condenser coils, ensuring that the unit remains a long-term asset in their home cooling strategy.

Core Specifications & Architecture

At the heart of the Voltas WAC 122FS PLATINA is a sophisticated architecture designed to handle high-stress thermal environments. The unit utilizes a Fixed Speed Compressor paired with Inverter Technology, a combination aimed at optimizing the cooling cycle. This setup is supported by a Copper condenser coil, which is a critical component for ensuring energy efficiency and facilitating easier maintenance compared to aluminum alternatives.

The technical metrics of the device are clearly defined to assist in precise installation and energy planning:

• Cooling Capacity: 3100 W
• Capacity: 1 Ton
• Refrigerant: R-32 (an environmentally conscious choice)
• ISEER Rating: 3.1 W/W
• BEE Star Rating: 2 Star (2026 Rating)
• Annual Electricity Consumption: 774.11 Units
• Power Requirement: AC 230 V, 50 Hz

The architecture is further bolstered by an Anti Freeze Thermostat, which prevents the evaporator from freezing, thereby maintaining consistent airflow and protecting the internal components. The use of R-32 refrigerant indicates a commitment to modern cooling standards, providing efficient heat transfer while adhering to updated environmental guidelines.

Airflow and Filtration Systems

The Voltas PLATINA is engineered with a comprehensive airflow management system. It features a 2 Way air flow direction and supports both Horizontal and Vertical air swing. The inclusion of Auto Air Swing allows the unit to distribute cool air dynamically across the room without manual intervention, ensuring there are no stagnant hot spots. To maintain air quality, the unit is equipped with a dual-layer filtration approach, featuring both a Dust Filter and an Anti-bacteria filter, which work together to capture airborne particulates and microbial contaminants.

Performance, Usability & Everyday Experience

In real-world applications, the Voltas WAC 122FS PLATINA is designed to perform under pressure. One of its most significant performance claims is its ability to provide High Ambient Cooling Even At 48 Degree Celsius. This makes it particularly suitable for regions experiencing extreme summer heatwaves, where standard air conditioners might struggle to maintain set temperatures.

The user experience is enhanced through several intelligent convenience features. The Sleep Mode is a standout, automatically adjusting the temperature throughout the night to ensure the user remains comfortable without unnecessary energy expenditure. For users concerned with air quality and humidity, the Dehumidification function provides a way to manage moisture levels, making the room feel significantly more comfortable during monsoon or humid seasons.

Operational usability is managed via a Remote Control that offers Multiple Modes, including a dedicated Fan Mode for days when cooling is not required but air circulation is necessary. The Indoor Temperature Indicator provides real-time feedback on the room's climate, allowing for precise monitoring. Additionally, the Auto Restart feature ensures that in the event of a power cut, the unit resumes its previous settings automatically once power is restored, eliminating the need for manual resets.

Design, Build Quality & Efficiency

The physical design of the Voltas PLATINA follows a Solid Design philosophy, presented in a clean White finish that allows it to blend seamlessly into most interior decors. As a window AC, the dimensions are optimized for standard window frames. The Indoor Unit measures 55.8 cm x 37.5 cm x 58 cm and has a weight of 40.5 kg, indicating a substantial and sturdy build quality.

Efficiency is a core pillar of this 2026 model. With a 2 Star BEE Rating, it is designed to offer energy savings of up to 5% compared to a Non-Inverter 1 Star model. The annual electricity consumption is rated at 774.11 Units, providing a clear metric for homeowners to calculate their operational costs. The use of Copper in the condenser is not just a performance choice but a durability one, as copper is highly efficient at heat exchange and is easier to service over the lifespan of the product.

Safety and control are integrated into the design through a Child Lock feature, preventing accidental setting changes by younger household members. The build is robust, intended to withstand the rigors of continuous operation in high-temperature environments.
