Swipe Telecom and MTV launches 6-inch MTV Volt 1000 phablet at Rs. 11,999 with Android 4.1

Swipe Telecom has launched a new budget Phablet in an alliance with MTV, MTV Volt 1000 priced at Rs. 11,999.
Moreover, MTV also commented that they would be rolling out more smartphones and tablets in the price band of Rs 5000 to Rs 20,000 in the coming months.

    SPECIFICATIONS
  1. The MTV Volt 1000 features a 6-inch 854x480 pixel 5-point capacitive touchscreen (which is a little disappointing.), and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor coupled with an upgraded 1GB of RAM. Apart from 4GB of built-in storage (and microSD card support up to 32BG), the Volt 1000 bears an 8MP rear camera, and a 1.3MP front-facing camera.
  2. The dual-SIM Android phablet weighs 186 grams, and like the original Volt, offers a built-in TV player with access to MTV, apart from an FM radio player.
    The device will be available across multiple retail outlets in India, the Swipe e-store and with leading online portals as well.

Earlier this year, Swipe had launched another phablet, the MTV Volt, with a 6-inch screen as part of its 2 year licensing agreement with Viacom18 the network that runs MTV. The first MTV Volt had almost the same specifications except that it featured 512MB of RAM and a 3200 mAh battery.
