Angry Birds Star Wars II : Available Soon on Your SmartPhone

Long wait is finally over for gaming lovers. Rovio, the video game developer, has announced the latest in the Angry Birds series, Angry Birds Star Wars II.

It has become official and will be coming our way on September 19 as per the news from a blog post on Rovio's official site. It will be available on all the app stored across the world.

  • A total of 30 new characters will be added to the series along with the Bad Piggies. Rovio is not disclosing whether or not Jar Jar Binks will be represented in some way, but frankly, if he isn't, that's a fail.
  • Apart from the Star Wars characters, you will also get TELEPODS figures from Hasbro. Rovio has tied-up with Hasbro to produce these figures.In addition to the pigs and bird toys (which are a bit smaller than the pencil-topper style Angry Bird toys currently available), Hasbro is releasing a variety of playsets based on real-world slingshot and stacked block gameplay.
  • According to a blog post on Rovio, placing these figures onto your smartphone or tablet camera will scan your character of choice directly into the game, allowing to select new characters on the fly (check out the video at the end of the post).
  • Another surprise in the game and first for the series is that this time you can choose which side you are going to fight. You can “join the pork side” to fight in the game, Rovio writes “and rumor has it that the emperor is recruiting”.

Overall it is going to be exciting game with new characters and TELEPODS, if you are an Angry Birds fan you might have to wait till September 19th to get it on your smartphone or tablet.

Other than these TelePods, we are expecting new Angry Bird books, clothing, toys and plushes along with the launch of the game on September 19. The game will be coming later to Android devices.
