Which is better – HTC One M9+ or One E9+ ?

Since the arrival of year 2015, HTC has announced the launch of three smartphones- HTC One M9+, HTC One E9+ and HTC Desire 326G. HTC has announced the price of its flagship phone HTC One M9+ at Rs. 52,500. HTC One M9+ is the variant of HTC One M9 and will be available in the market by end of May. One M9+ has great specifications to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S6. This Taiwanese handset manufacturer has also launched another handset called HTC One E9+ along with the M9+. There is very slight difference between these two smartphones.

  1. Processor : HTC One M9+ is supported with a 64-bit MediaTek MT6795T (Helio X10) octa-core processor which is clocked at 2.2GHz whereas HTC One E9+ comes with 64-bit MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor which is clocked at 1.9GHz. The overall performance of both the handsets are almost same except that the clock speed is varied which hardly makes a difference. M9+ comes with 3 GB RAM and E9+ comes with 2 GB RAM, which makes M9+ having more memory and a better option to buy.
  2. Display : The display of smartphone plays a vital role while purchasing a phone. Both these HTC models support a quad full HD capacitive touchscreen display having resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels but there is a difference in their screen sizes. HTC One M9+ comes with 5.2 inch display screen and E9+ has even bigger screen display which classifies it as a phablet. Although, there is not much difference in their screen sizes, still HTC One E9+ proves to be a better choice.
  3. Camera : The quality of camera is a major deciding factor in buying a camera. One M9+ supports a 20.7 MP primary camera with dual LED flash and 4 Ultrapixel front facing camera whereas One E9+ comes with 20 MP rear camera with LED flash and ultrapixel front camera. Hence , M9+ produces better quality images and videos than E9+.
  4. Connectivity and Sim type : Both HTC models come with almost same connectivity features like  Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, A-GPS with GLONASS, NFC and microUSB port. HTC One M9+ is a single sim model like its flagship counterpart whereas One E9+ is a dual sim which is also beneficial for certain segment of users.
  5. Other features: M9+ has 32 GB internal memory whereas E9+ has 16 GB internal memory and both have an option of expandable memory upto 128 GB. HTC One E9+ will hit the market in May and will be available in Meteor Grey, Gold Sopia and Rose Gold colors. One M9+ is expected to be launched in first week of May in Gold, Gunmetal Grey and Silver colors.

 
Verdict : The estimated price of M9+ is 52,500 whereas of E9+ is 45,000. There is a great price difference between the two and the features and specifications are almost the same. Hence, E9+ seems to be better value for money. But finally, it is the user's personal preference what to choose.
