Samsung Galaxy S6 : Why should you buy this phone?

Samsung , a leading smartphone manufacturer , have finally launched its new set of flagship smartphones- Samsung Galaxy S6 and its curved variant – Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge . Samsung Galaxy S5 was not a hit in the smartphone market and did not live upto the expectations, but this did not deter Samsung from launching new phones. This is the first time that Samsung has launched two variants of its flagship device. Both have different looks and design. Samsung has designed these phones in different way with much improved camera, more refined metallic design and amazing hardware and has little resemblance to its previous model Samsung S5 and hope to change the perception of its phones in 2015.

  1. Specifications :Samsung devices always have top of the line specifications and premium features. Samsung Galaxy S6 and its curved version, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge are no different. Samsung has retained its 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display from its previous flagship phone Samsung Galaxy S5. However it is slight narrower (with dimensions 143.3 x 70.8 x 6.9 mm) , thinner and lighter in weight (having weight 132gms) than Galaxy S5. This phone will have Quad HD display with pixel density of 577 ppi and a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, hence leading to sharper and crispier images, better contrast ratio and colour accuracy. The phone will be powered by a Exynos 7420, Quad-core 2.1 GHz processor along with 3 GB of RAM. It is for the first time ever that For the first time since the Galaxy S2, Samsung has shifted from its usual Qualcomm processor to Exynos 7420 chipset to provide superior and better feature handsets. It will also have updated Touchwiz software. Other features include 16 Megapixel rear camera, 5 Megapixel front facing camera with LED flash , 32/64/128 GB internal memory and wireless charging and many more. Both flagship phones are available in three storage variants of 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB.
  2. Design : Samsung has completely changed the finish of the handset and moved on the line of HTC One and iPhone6 by shifting from plastic finish to premium materials of aluminium and glass. It has a metallic look as its Galaxy A Series and Galaxy Alpha smartphones. Earlier Samsung phones were quite expensive and had plastic bodies but now it has changed this mindset with recent launch. Both Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge feature premium and elegant metallic unibody with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on front and back panel.
  3. Battery : Samsung Galaxy S6 comes with 2550 mAh capacity battery whereas S5 had 2800 mAh battery. Though S6 has smaller battery than S5 but its Exynos chipset is up to 35% more efficient than previous ones. Hence the battery life of S6 will be more than the Galaxy S5.
  4. Improved Use-Interface : Unlike its previous phone which swipe feature, this phone comes with new one touch finger-print sensor. Earlier Samsung phones had heavy visuals and large number of bloatwares but in its latest launch, Samsung has installed lighter version of Touchwiz UI which fewer number of bloats , hence resulting in better and faster performance.
