Gionee Launches world's Slimmest Android Smartphone - ELIFE S5.5

Gionee, a Chinese smartphone maker and manufacturer of mobile devices, has introduced its slimmest smartphone, Gionee ELIFE S5.5.
It is named after its biggest feature – a 5.55mm slim smartphone.
The ELIFE S series is a new product category developed by Gionee keeping in mind the customer's desire for a slim and powerful smartphone and to create a whole new user experience.
At just 5.5mm thick, the smartphone is the slimmest smartphone in the world. The device has been listed for pre-order at $370 (which is approximately Rs. 23,000).
The Elife S5.5 is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core CPU combined with 2GB of RAM. It is supported by a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera for video calls. Gionee latest phone is powered by 2,300mAh battery which will last for more than a day, so by going slim, it isn’t compromising on anything.

The expected specifications of Gione ELIFE S5.5 is as follows:

  • 1.7GHz CPU quad-core CPU processor
  • 13.0MP rear camera and 5.0MP front camera
  • Memory: 16GB internal memory 2GB external memory
  • AMIGO OS 2.0 (based on Android OS, V4.2)
  • It supports features like WIFI/GPS/BT4.0/FM/G-sensor
  • Ultra slim 145.1 x 70.2 x 5.55mm
  • Non-removable 2,300mAh battery
  • It is available in Black, White, Blue, Pink and Purple color options.

ELIFE S5.5 will also be on display during the 2014 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in the coming week from 24th to 28th February.
The 3G model of Elife S5.5 is up for pre-order in China, and will be launched in 40 more countries globally and the LTE version of the Elife S5.5 will arrive in June.

Gionee on Monday launched two new Android smartphones in India:
1. Gionee M2 have been priced at Rs. 10,800
2. Gionee Gpad G4 have been priced at Rs. 16,999 respectively.
Both the dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphones run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and are now officially available for purchase.
