Apple iPhone 8 Vs iPhone 7 : Should you upgrade?
After lot of speculations and rumours about Apple's new series of iPhones, the company has launched its special anniversary edition Apple iPhone X along with iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus with incremental upgrades over their predecessors like faster processor and Qi wireless charging. Design and Display
In terms of look and design, both the smartphones sport similar design with bulging cameras and bezel-free antenna lines. Like iPhone 7, this upcoming device is also dust and water resistant with same IP67 certification. The only difference is that iPhone 8 and 8 Plus come with rear glass panel so that it can include Qi wireless charging instead of aluminium back supported by its predecessors. Though adding glass back will make the device more fragile as compared to its predecessors. On the display front, both of them come with 4.7-inch display but iPhone 8 has superior display quality with True Tone technology support that adjusts the white balance according to the ambient light, hence matching the lighting around you. While the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus come in Black, Jet black, Gold, Rose Gold and Silver whereas iPhone 8 is sold only in Silver, Space Gray and Gold colour options.
Performance and software
Apple iPhone 8 gets an incremental upgrade in terms of hardware and software configuration. It comes with a new hexa-core A11 Bionic SoC which offers 25 percent faster performance than A10 Fusion chip in iPhone 7. Apart from processor, the new GPU provides 30 percent enhanced graphical experience than last year's models. The newest iPhone also promises better support for augmented reality. In terms of software, iPhone 8 gets latest and most advanced iOS 11 platform.

Camera and Battery
Though both the devices are equipped with a 12-megapixel camera on the rear panel and 7-megapixel front facing camera, the camera sensor in iPhone 8 is much more advanced and when paired with Bionic SoC, it produces more natural looking and attractive images. To provide better user experience, the company has also introduced several software enhancements like studio lighting, contour lighting, natural lighting and portrait lighting that maps your face for more well-lit picture quality in its upcoming phone. It can also record 4K videos at 60 fps, which is a substantial improvement from 30 fps on the iPhone 7.
On the battery front, both of them have same battery life. However, the new iPhone charges faster than its predecessor as it comes with Qi wireless charging support which has been made possible by changing the previous aluminium back to glass back.
Pricing and Storage
iPhone 8 has been limited to only two storage variants – 64GB and 256GB whereas iPhone 7 comes in three storage variants - 32GB variant at Rs 46,999, 128GB variant at 52,999 and 256GB at 56,999 . iPhone 8 will be available for purchase at Rs 64,000 (for 64GB model) and Rs 77,000 for 256GB model on 29th September at all online as well as offline stores.
